Katie Preissner’s connection to the performing arts began early, fueled by a love of performing as a child and strengthened through a rich musical education. This led to her completion of degrees in Voice Performance and Communication Studies at the Catholic University of America, where she found stage management to be a natural fit for her organizational and collaborative skills, applied to the art form she loves. At the beginning of her professional career, she spent a summer as a Stage Management Apprentice with Wolf Trap Opera Company, an experience that launched a 25-year journey through the opera industry.

Since then, Katie has worked with 19 opera companies, beginning in stage management and growing into administrative and leadership roles in both production and artistic departments. This period provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with numerous directors, designers, conductors, stage managers, technicians, orchestral musicians, and, of course, singers at every stage of their career journeys, from young artists through seasoned professionals. She has experienced opera from nearly every angle and has seen the operations of companies ranging from some of the largest opera houses in the country to some of the smallest.

She is excited to start this new chapter with Preissner Artist Management, directly supporting artists with career development and management. Currently based in the Denver area, Katie spends her hours off the clock with her two sons and two basset hounds.
